EVENT OVERVIEW --
Fourth on the Brazos will take from 6 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. at Indian Spring Park in downtown Waco. Admission is free. Along with music, the event features a variety of sponsor booths, concessions, kids arts and games and scenic views of the Brazos River. Star 92.9 FM will broadcast the Waco Community Band’s performance during the fireworks show.

H-E-B FIREWORKS --
The H-E-B Fireworks Extravaganza begins at approximately 10 p.m. The show is visible throughout downtown. The fireworks will be shot from northwest of the Suspension Bridge. Suggested viewing areas include park space along both sides of the Brazos River, Franklin Street Bridge, and downtown parking lots.
RIDE THE FREE SHUTTLE --
Avoid downtown traffic and ride the free Fourth on the Brazos shuttle. Waco Transit will provide a free shuttle from 6:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. The shuttle will run continuously from the Ferrell Center to Heritage Square. Heritage Square is just a short walk around the block to Indian Spring Park. Following the fireworks, the shuttle will take you back to your vehicle at the Ferrell Center.
STREET CLOSURES --
Streets in the downtown area will close at approximately 6 p.m. Intersections will be patrolled by Waco Police Department. Streets will reopen following the fireworks show.
The following streets will be closed for the event:
University Parks from Jackson to Bosque,3rd from Barron to Jeffersonn, Jefferson from 4th to University Parks, Trice from Elm to Bridge St., Bridge from MLK to Trice, Franklin from 4th to MLK, Washington from 4th to MLK, 3rd from Franklin to Washington (access for Hilton Hotel guests), Austin Avenue from 3rd to 4th (Waco Transit Shuttle ONLY), Barron from 4th to 3rd , Elm Street from MLK to railroad tracks, Bridge from MLK to railroad tracks, Taylor from MLK to railroad tracks, MLK from I-35 to Bering.
PARKING --
Parking is available throughout Downtown Waco and in East Waco. Parking is available at the following locations: City Hall (Franklin Ave.), Heritage Square (Washington Ave.), Alico Building (4th and Washington), Courthouse (5th and Washington), Grass lot next to Fire Training Station (University Parks and Webster), Additional lots and parking spaces along streets are also available.
No parking is allowed on street medians. Handicap parking is available at Ben E. Keith Distribution and at the Convention Center (corner of 3rd and Washington).
SECURITY, EMS, INFO BOOTH --
Officers from Waco PD, McLennan County Sheriff’s Office, Waco Park Rangers and area police departments secure the event. Lost children should be taken next to the stage to the City of Waco information boothto the security command post. EMS/First Aide is at the corner of University Park and Franklin.
FOOD & DRINKS --
Food vendors will be located at the corners of Franklin and University Parks and Washington and University Parks. Foods such as barbecue, turkey legs, corndogs, nachos, hotdogs, funnel cakes and snow cones will be available.
Beer and wine will be sold. Dr Pepper booths will be located throughout the park.
KID’S ACTIVITIES --
The Waco Cultural Arts Festival sponsors a free arts and crafts area for kids next to the Suspension Bridge. Inflatable games are also located next to the Suspension Bridge.
PERMITTED and PROHIBITED ITEMS --
Permitted items include: coolers, chairs, cameras, blankets and storage bags.
Prohibited items include: pets, pop-up tents, large umbrellas, glass bottles, and grills. No fireworks are allowed. Fireworks will be confiscated and tickets will be issued. |
